Once you have
selected your timber, our on-site timber processing experts, can machine the
material to virtually any size or shape. We can cross cut to dead length,
saw and plane to specified size, groove, mould and laminate. Simply hand us
your Cutting List and we'll machine all the items needed for your next
project. So proficient are we at this work, that other timber merchants
commision us to machine their material.
Moulding
This traditional craft is perpetuated
by Thorogoods. We are accomplished in the skill of producing mouldings from
architects' designs and reproducing the pattern of existing features such
as Skirting Boards, Picture Rails and Cills. A steel template of each
moulding cutter is retained for repeat orders. (Standard mouldings are
available from stock for collection or dispatch.)
Flooring
From High Street stores, sports
centres and theatres, to manor houses and cottages, all types of properties
have been enhanced by the long lasting good looks of Thorogoods solid wood
strip flooring.
Special
Commissions
We can help too in the production of intricate
and individual items. Projects undertaken by the craftsmen in our Specials
Workshop include hardwood encased coloumns with softwood cores, laminations
for bar tops, wood panelling and one-off pieces of machining.
Property Restoration
Even when you
are involved in the specialised area of property restoration, Thorogoods is
still your one stop merchant for all your timber needs and technical
advice.
Property companies, architects and interior designers all testify
to our capabilities and knowledge.
We can supply material for the
replacement or repair of structural timber and architectural features -
profiled to match the original style. European Oak, essential for the
authentic refurbishment of many period properties, can be supplied kiln dried or fresh sawn depending upon your requirements. The results are seen in listed buildings such as
inns and town halls, as well as private homes.
In fact,
there really is no limit to what Thorogoods can supply.
