Mahogany, Brazilian Swietenia macrophylla Density: 640kg/m3 Description: Mahogany is variable in colour ranging from pale or medium reddish brown to deep rich red. The grain is variable from straight grained to interlocking. Working Properties: Mahogany is fairly easy to work either with hand or machine tools. Glues, stains and polishes excellently and produces a good veneer. Physical Properties: The strength properties are good for a timber of it’s weight. Dries easily and well. Durability: Durable.
