Whitewood, European Picea abies Density: 470kg/m3 Description: There is no difference between sapwood and heartwood, the colour varying between almost white to pale yellowish-brown. It has a straight grain and rather fine texture. Working Properties: The wood works easily both with hand tools and machine tools It take stain, paint, varnish and glue satisfactorily. Physical Properties: Dries rapidly and well, with a tendency for knots to split and loosen. Compared with European redwood the wood is more lustrous Durability: Non durable.
