An Important Update to Our Service
In light of the continuing situation with coronavirus, it’s necessary for us to make some changes to the way we operate. As much as possible we want to minimise any disruption to service, whilst still keeping everyone safe and following the government’s advice.
Our delivery service remains unaffected, so we can still get whatever timber you need to you when you need it. For the moment deliveries will be curb side only, with our lorry mounted forklift offloading the goods to ensure there is no contact between you and our drivers. We’ll be giving you a call when we are nearby to ensure that your goods arrive with you safe and sound, but for the moment the need to minimise contact means we will not be asking you to sign delivery paperwork.
We’re open for collections, so if you have an existing order with us then don’t worry, you can come and pick that up.
We want to make sure that our customers can still get access to the products they need, but it is also of paramount importance to maintain social distancing. For this reason, we will no longer be allowing self-selection. This has not been an easy decision for us. We want all our customers to have access to the best possible products and the ability to select your own timber has been a vital part of what makes “the Thorogood difference” for decades, but in these unusual times we have to consider the safety of customers and staff first. Likewise, whilst our racks of pre-machined timber and finishing products won’t be available for perusal, if you call in advance we can pull out material to suit your requirements ready for you to collect.
For the same reason, we have closed the customer facing part of the sales office. If you have any enquiries or you wish to discuss an upcoming project then please call us, do not come in. We can do everything over the phone. Unfortunately, we will be unable to accept cash payments for the time being, so please could forearmed with a credit or debit card.
We have also made the difficult decision to close on Saturdays for the foreseeable future
Lastly, we want to express our sincere gratitude to all our customers. We appreciate that the last couple of weeks have not been easy for anyone, but your patience and understanding have made these trying times that little bit easier.
We hope to be able to resume normal service as soon as possible.
